All guides include detailed trail descriptions and information on road crossings, shelters, water sources, and points of interest, plus general advice on the region. Each guide also includes separate water-resistant maps for the specific region covered. The North Carolina-Georgia guide covers 235 miles from the eastern end of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park to the trail's starting (or ending) point at Springer Mountain in Georgia. The set includes four, five-color topographic maps printed on two sheets plus the five-color topographic map of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park published by National Geographic Maps.
